To understand why a wedding film mattered so much to Jordan and James, you have to go back a year, to the proposal.
In Rio de Janeiro.
During the World Cup.
He Was Specifically Told Not To
They’d been together over three years, so Jordan knew a proposal was coming eventually. She had also made it extremely clear to James that Rio was not an ideal place to be waving a large diamond ring around, and that he had better not do it while they were down there.
Never one to surrender the element of surprise, James ignored this entirely. As the sun went down over Rio, surrounded by World Cup fans, under the Christ the Redeemer statue, he got on one knee and asked her, with tourists photographing them from all sides.
And then they both blacked out. Mentally, not physically.
I’m serious. They have photographs of what happened next and no memories of it. Their brains were so overloaded that they simply failed to record any of it.
Which Is Why They Wanted A Film

When they got to planning the wedding, that experience was sitting right there. They wanted a way to remember the day exactly as it happened. Every smile, every look, every touch.
I may be slightly biased, but I think a film is the best way to do that. Jordan and James turned out to be biased in the same direction.
An Incredibly Energetic Wedding

And what a day to be asked to remember. This was one of the highest-energy weddings I have filmed in the Hill Country, from a distinctly relaxed morning through to a reception that did not let up.
