It was a very busy year for the Kiel family. My friend Emily Kiel, who does all my DVD case design work, and her sister Ellen Kiel got engaged and married within five months of each other. I filmed Ellen’s wedding in July and Emily’s in November. Please don’t ask me to pick a favourite. They were both a lot of fun.
This post is about Ellen and Jeff, so let’s concentrate on them.
They Met Because She Doesn’t Cook
They met at their office. Jeff overheard Ellen and a coworker talking about how Ellen doesn’t like to cook, and said hello. Jeff, you see, loves to cook, and had been looking for a woman who would let him cook for her.
They hit it off, started dating, and eventually Jeff was ready to propose. He enlisted Emily to help, which meant convincing Ellen they were doing a photo shoot, complete with cute signs the two of them held up right until he got down on one knee.
You can read the whole thing and see the photos on Emily’s blog, and in Ellen’s own words.

Ashton Gardens, Houston

Big thanks to Daniel Karr for helping me film this one. We shot it on two Sony FS100s and the footage came out beautiful.
