Weddings are the peak emotional moment of a lot of people’s lives, and maybe that’s why I enjoy filming them so much. Nearly every weekend I get to stand inside one of the most joyous things anybody will ever experience. Everyone is happy, the excitement is palpable, and there’s an actual buzz in the air.
Chelsea and Chandler’s took all of that up a level. It was one of the most emotional weddings I filmed all year.

Two Families, Not Two People
A wedding is about more than two people joining together. It’s more like two families merging, quirks and awkwardness and humour and all. New relationships start between uncles and cousins and dads and grandparents who had no reason to know each other last week.

This one was no exception. Chelsea told me she had never once seen her dad cry. That held right up until the wedding day.
Vows To Three People
Chelsea and Chandler have a daughter, and from the first time I heard them talk about her I knew she was going to be central to the day.
Usually the weddings I film are about the couple’s love for each other. This one was that, and to an even greater extent it was about their love for their daughter.

That came out most clearly in the ceremony itself. Chandler said his vows to Chelsea. Chelsea said hers to Chandler. And then they both said vows to their daughter.
I feel genuinely blessed to have filmed it.
